They’re not “errors”, they’re creative choices - the kind that every dramatist has to make because there’s no such thing as an accurate history drama
There is undoubtedly a nuanced discussion to be had about seductive verisimilitude in costume design being coupled to fictionalised story & characters. The Crown works extremely hard to *look* legit, which does suggest other details might have been carefully reconstructed...
But every historical drama does this, to a certain extent - they didn’t wear T-shirts & jeans in Poldark.

The other big problem is when people have lived through an era, they are much more critical of how it’s portrayed on screen.
