The most deprived are nearly twice as likely to die from Covid than the least deprived.

A thread.
The @ONS have released this data set https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/deathsduetocovid19bylocalareaanddeprivation

It shows, over the course of the epidemic, the proportion of total deaths due to Covid 19 as a percentage of total (all causes) deaths.
This is split by where people live, but also by deprivation.

Deprivation is described using the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/english-indices-of-deprivation-2019 which splits a population into 10 equally sized groups from 1 (the most deprived) to 10 (the least deprived).
My analysis shows:

In November 2020:

26% of total deaths were due to Covid-19 amongst the most deprived

compared to

13% of total deaths were due to Covid-19 amongst the least deprived.

Here's a chart the relationship between deprivation and Covid deaths.
