Some myths about Eating disorders:

1. Anorexia is the main eating disorder
2. You have to be underweight to have an eating disorder
3. It is all about food
4. It is not at all about food
5. It is a vanity thing
6. It's only something that afects women
7. You grow out of them
8. People with eating disorders don't eat
9. You can tell if someone is unwell by looking at them
10. We want to be unwell
11. We can just eat more and it'll all be better
12. They don't cause lifelong damage
13. You must be stupid to have an ED
14. It is a choice
15. Recovery is always a quick process
16. Everyone's eating disorder is the same
17. It is a weakness to be "triggered"
18. Relapses are a failure
19. It is impossible to recover
20. They are simple, it is just food, right?
21. Older people don't struggle
22. It is only a 21st Century thing
23. It is all environmental factors, genetics don't play any part
24. Comments like "I wish I was a little anorexic" are ever suitable things to say
25. Dieting cannot cause eating disorders
26. All exercise is healthy
27. You are better once you have gained weight
28. Telling someone that it could kill them is going to suddenly make them change
29. They are not that serious
30. Binge eating is just laziness and lack of self-control
31. Recovery is easy, you just eat, right?
32. Diet culture in our society has not caused an increase in eating disorders
33. Social Media is always to blame
34. Parent's dieting cannot affect their child's relationship with food

37. Your whole life will always be consumed by your Eating Disorder
