I think one of the most popular questions I get in DM’s & the comment section from RW’s and Leftist alike, “If Socialism/Communism is so great, why is it so hard to get started and maintain?” The answer is complicated and isn’t the dramatic picture of “Good vs evil” often painted https://twitter.com/herosnvrdie69/status/1339451365538623488
The article brings up the point that a lot of people aren’t interested in theory and in no way am I saying it’s a prerequisite to being a leftist, but think about why in the first place. If people are oppressed what drives them away from organization like Marx predicted
We can look to many factors BUT the thing that ties it together is the culture we live in. Our society discourages organization at that level especially against forms of authority from when we are children! So take another step back, who sets this precedent?
Society is often looked at as this phantom hanging over us but really it’s each and everyone of us and everyone we know. We don’t all work like a hive mind so WHO creates the standards for acceptable society? Who plants the seeds to discourage organization against the ruling?
Of course the answer is simple, the ones who stand to lose the most if that were the happen. The ruling class sets the standards of a society and uses their influence to enforce this upon us, the reason people haven’t realized they “Have nothing to lose but their chains” is
Because we have to fight against something even larger than an economic system, we have to fight an entire cultural system that is crafted at every step of your life to alienate you from everyone around you. How many hands labored for your food before it got to your mouth?
Who are those people? What lives do they lead? Families they care for? You probably have a lot more in common with them than the people who sit at the top telling everyone else what’s acceptable and what’s not. It’s not just “evil economics” it’s a game we’re all forced to play
Should you choose to resist though? ...well that’s where the real fun begins
Sorry for the giant thread but this all goes under Cultural Hegemony. Which has kind of been my most recent focus in content I’m going to be putting out after the Freudo-Marxist stuff
13th amendment is a prime example, Free Labour is a crucial part of US economics and the culture shifted BUT those who stood to maintain power from slavery shifted the focus to “Crime&punishment” nothing fundamentally changed but through this they renormalized it to everyone
Also yeah yeah obligatory “Wall of Text” meme
