Slide-off tech is different in P+ compared to Melee, but it's not far off. Different moves require different angles on your c stick. From what I gather, most launchers can be covered around these angles.
A = uair
B = dair
1 = down/in cstick angle
2 = slightly below down/in
This info isn't new or anything, but I only learned about it today via this thread, and I wanted to mess around with it. Figured if it was new to me, it's probably new to other people as well. Plus, I got to add some cstick visuals for clarity. https://twitter.com/TheDrinkingFood/status/1242876307551277056?s=20
This -really- needs to be polished in our defensive play, ESPECIALLY if you're a fastfaller/semi fastfaller. I've only scratched the surface, and optimal use is gonna require a lot of matchup knowledge. Counterplay feels the same as Melee, aka slide off di = horrible survival di
Additionally, I think some moves just have too high base kb to make it work all the time? I couldn't find any angles that worked against Marth utilt but worked fine against his uair, for example. Again, I've only just started looking into this.
