Wasn’t Kenya involved in Oxford’s Covid vaccine trials only for their government to turn around and say they cannot support the suspension of IP “rights” so that poorer countries, like Kenya, can access the vaccine?
They tested that vaccine in multiple third world countries only to declare that profit >>> third world people’s lives.

Not shocking just particularly shameless.
The Pfizer vaccine was also tested in South Africa, India, Brazil and other GS countries

Multinationals/pharmaceuticals are what?
And the other part is that in lieu of the waiver, many Africans countries are opting for the Astrazeneca vaccine (Oxford) even though it is LESS EFFICACIOUS(62-90%) bc it’s $3 compared to Pfizer’s $20 and Moderna’s $33 and it’s cheaper/easier to store

I just......
But anyway, rich countries have already bought all available doses of the Moderna vaccine and 90% of Pfizers vaccine. Canada has apparently bought enough to vaccinate their citizens 5 times. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-55229894
Rich countries have manufactured scarcity (even as AstraZeneca positions itself as “altruistic” pledging over 60% of its doses to third world countries) AND they are REFUSING to waive the patent laws that might enable higher, cheaper, easier production and distribution. Wow
As always, third world countries are here for extraction and experiments not for international cooperation or improved wellbeing.

As long as imperialism, anti-Blackness, capitalism and nation states continue to be the world order, our wellbeing will continues to be a non-issue
