A day in the life of a #childcare director: help staff member w/ unemployment claim, listen to extremely frustrated parent who is afraid they will lose their job because they don’t have childcare, send an email updating families, support crying parent... cont.
Plus worry about another staff member who may test positive, she’s definitely sick. Work w/ DOH to figure out reopen dates, have another parent assume that the only way COVID could have come into the center was through negligence, have another staff member have a panic attack...
Wonder aloud why #childcare doesn’t get attention, nor funding. Why legislators and funders continue to disregard the high emotional toll that the early ed and childcare workforce in paying. Is anyone listening? #SaveChildCare we scream...
We cannot do it by ourselves, the system was too fractured before COVID. Now? It’s been obliterated. Is anyone listening? “Help!”, we shout. #ChildCareisEssential right? Then why do I have to scream while barely holding on, #SaveChildCare! STOP exploiting this workforce!
Because children are simply that important. Please #SaveChildCare
And another positive... #COVID19
