Max got a Rubik’s Cube recently. He likes it but can’t solve it. I can get one side but that’s all. Last night he went to bed and put the Rubik’s Cube next to his Elf on a Shelf (Ben) and told Ben he wanted it solved by morning.😳

I didn’t know what to do, so just went with it.
So I took the Rubik’s Cube and replaced it with a note (from Ben of course) that said “I took the Rubik’s Cube to the North Pole for the elves to solve. They’ll give it back as soon as they do.”

My wife ordered a brand new Rubik’s Cube from Target. Figured we’d just swap it.
So today we picked it up from Target, got home, then realized it’s not the same thing. We got something called Rubik’s Cube Impossible. The blocks literally change colors when you move it around. I had no idea this was even a thing so never bothered to check.
We thought about just using that one but Max would totally know it wasn’t the same. Because kids know. They are super observant. Know this if you don’t already.

So we ordered another one. My wife drove to Target tonight while Max and I were home to get the new one. Again.
Max went to bed. I put the Rubik’s Cube next to Ben with another note that says “It took the elves all day to solve this and since they are so busy right now they can’t do it again, so keep it with you and keep it safe.”

This better work! 😓
