@Edmontonsun recently posted this news article regarding local Calgary church Southside Victory. @Edmontonsun article has multiple assertions that are false, yet they still ran the article. @Edmontonsun show journalistic integrity in your reporting. https://twitter.com/edmontonsun/status/1338907269627596800
@Edmontonsun quoted AHS inspector “an individual who appeared to be senior citizen greeting people at the door, handing out documents, and was observed hugging people and making direct contact with meme era of the public. This individual was not masked.”

@Edmontonsun Southside Victory has provided attendees and volunteers free masks to wear, they are located at 4 sanitization stations in the church. Staff encourage the use of masks to all attendees but do not enforce or create confrontation to force compliance from attendees.
@Edmontonsun Southside Victory posted the CITY OF CALGARY mask bylaw signage at every sanitization station. STAFF direct attendees or volunteers to sanitization stations. STAFF are not BLAW OFFICERS and cannot force compliance. Some attendees or volunteers may have exemptions!!
@Edmontonsun quoted AHS inspector “it’s congregants we’re sitting close together during service“ Southside Victory Staff posted multiple signs encouraging physical distancing, STAFF do not confront or enforce attendees to remain physically distant. STAFF are not BYLAW OFFICERS
@Edmontonsun quoted AHS inspector “ musical performers also failed to maintain the required two meter distance.” Southside Victory worship music teams strive to exercise 6ft of distance between members and approximately 12ft-15ft from audience during service.

@Edmontonsun Southside Victory live worship team tries to adhere to both provincial and city bylaws, each has different some variations of requirements. Southside doesn’t enforce masks on volunteers We Are Not BYLAW ENFORCEMENT.
@Edmontonsun quoted AHS inspector “when asked, the church’s pastor didn’t know how many people were in attendance “ FALSE CLAIM attendance numbers were communicate to inspector onsite by church staff and it was also tracked by auditorium ushers . Southside monitored capacity.
@Edmontonsun quoted AHS Inspector “there did not appear to be anyone on site counting or overseeing numbers of attendee” THIS IS SPECULATION at best by AHS. AUDITORIUM ushers count all attendees in main auditorium and 5 other classroom, plus foyers and staff, every service !!
@Edmontonsun further to the above
point the attendance number is submitted to the office for record. That was disclosed by STAFF to AHS ever week for past 3 weeks that they have been onsite and conversing with us between services ..

@Edmontonsun quoted AHS “maximum capacity may have been exceeded “ I WOULD READ YOUR ARTICLE!! CPS counted 180-200 attendees leaving .. MAX capacity is 603 in one auditorium.. WE NEVER HAD THAT MANY PEOPLE THERE.. this comment is meant to slander us to your readers !!

@Edmontonsun quoted AHS inspector “CALGARY POLICE SERVICES were on site “ BYLAW attended the call, CPS never attended. Ask @CalgaryPolice if they responded to a call Sunday DEC 6, 2020 at Southside Victory. FALSE CLAIM to insight a negative opinion of SVC. @CalgaryPolice

@Edmontonsun quoted AHS “ @CalgaryPolice counted 180-200 people leaving the building “CPS WAS NOT THERE IN A PATROL CAR counting attendees . BYLAW attended the call . I personally spoke to them, 1 male & 1 female peace officer, saying they responded to a over capacity complaint.
@Edmontonsun please contact Bylaw to confirm that the pictured unit above did attend our church Dec 6, 2020. twice @CalgaryPolice were mentioned with a negative impact. @CalgaryPolice are striving to go above and beyond and your article uses them to insight fear and contempt .
@Edmontonsun said “the service was held when a maximum number of people allowed in houses of worship was 25% of its fire safety capacity “ FALSE CLAIM house of worship were allowed 30% occupancy as per provincial bylaw.. @Edmontonsun LIED to it’s readers..
@Edmontonsun did you lie about attendance percentages being 25% This intentional edit was to mislead reader in believing Southside Victory DIDN’T comply with Covid rules .. In fact places of worship were not listed in the adjustment from 30% to 25% .
journalism integrity.

@Edmontonsun said “the church was ordered to ensure worshippers wore masks” TRUE - AHS inspector ordered Southside Victory to ensure attendees are masked at all times .. VIOLATION of CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT of attendee. EXEMPTIONS?force compliance .. AHS contradiction!!!
@Edmontonsun said “ensure worshippers be properly spaced“ Staff and volunteers cannot physically force any attendees to physically move or maintain social distance. Enforcing such policies requires bylaw officers. Southside Victory is not bylaw enforcement. WE ARE A CHURCH

STAFF WILL NOT ENFORCE A MANDATE ON BEHALF OF BYLAW .. WE ARE NOT LEGALLY COVERED TO DUE SO. CONFRONTATION WITH ATTENDEES COULD RESULT IN A PHYSICAL ALTERCATION, AND UNNECESSARY HARM TO OTHERS.. WE INFORM PEOPLE OF THE BYLAW MANDATE , ITS THEIR CHOICE.
@Edmontonsun said “Covid 19 advisory signs are not posted “ Southside Victory has posted multiple signs on property and at entrance. Southside has complied with this item since day one. AHS inspector doesn’t report accurate facts about signage in the facility.
@Edmontonsun Southside Victory chose to close public services and broadcast an online service Dec 13, 2020. AHS and Bylaw tried to gain entry to the front door of church during the online church service..
@Edmontonsun Southside Victory chose to close public services and broadcast an online service Dec 13, 2020. AHS and Bylaw tried to gain entry to the back door of church during the online church service..
@Edmontonsun Southside Victory is doing what we believe is within our constitutional rights . We have gone to online services to avoid further confrontation with AHS . AHS and BYLAW have issued no fines or tickets .
