We have already discussed the awakening and sleeping stages of mind. Now we have to think about the root cause, that is Ego. We find Ishwar in awakening and sleep stages. But where ego is concerned we sleep with it and on awakening, it is still there.

This ego should be banned or prohibited. Only the Supreme Soul can influence this. We thought about mind and intelligence already. Now here there is a conflict between inner inclinations and ego. So it is necessary to give some thought here in order to prohibit this.

For eg,when we already know that although we are very hungry we know the bottle contains poison,so we dont drink that.Similarly when we recognise our evils we can avoid them.

प्र वो॑ य॒ह्वं पु॑रू॒णां वि॒शां दे॑वय॒तीनां॑।
अ॒ग्निं सू॒क्तेभि॒र्वचो॑भिरीमहे॒ यं सी॒मिद॒न्य ईळ॑ते॥

Translation :

देवयतीनाम् - Majority.

पूरूणाम् - In the form of subjects.

वः - For you.

यह्यम् - Great.

अग्निम् - Of Agni.

सूक्तेभिः - in the form of Sukts.

वचोभिः - In sentences.

प्र ईमहे - To plead.

यम् - Which.

अन्ये इत् - And more.

सीम् - From all sides.

ईळते - To sing praises.

Explanation : This mantra tells us that the Ritwiks(priests), through their minor sentences(mantra shakti) are describing the greatness of men acquiring divinity. These are the great things that the priests describe while singing the praises.
