Sage Arishtanemi and Haiheya Parpuranjaya

Once it happened that a prince from Haiheya dynasty named Parpuranjaya went to forests for poaching.

He saw a black coloured dangerous animal.
He killed the animal with an arrow.
When he went nearer to the hunt then he found that this animal was actually a Sage who had been wearing cloth made up of black skin.

The prince was terrified with this sin which he had unknowingly done.

He ran to his parents and family for guidance.
When they came to know about what their son had done, they went rushing to Sage Arishtanemi from the lineage of Sage Kashyap.

There they confessed the crime and asked for a way to do prayaschit or face the punishment.
Upon searching for the dead body of Sage, they found that he was already alive.
They were all amazed at this incident.

Then Sage Arishtanemi told them that all the Sages in his clan had won the death.

It is described that in Satyug, no one died without his or her wish.
They enjoyed immortality to the whole because they performed Karma which was in accordance with the scriptures like Vedas.

These Sages performed same set of rules and mind you, they are not that easy to follow.

These kings again apologized for the crime they had did.
They worshipped Sage Arishtanemi and returned to their kingdom.

Sage Arishtanemi blessed them and told Parpuranjaya that he had become free from the sin of killing a Sage.

Such was our great Civilization. Naman to the Sages and kings.
