(2) KBR, Fluor, DynCorp are three contractors that made billions off the taxpayers during the 20 years of our war on terrorism. Too many contracts for proper oversight. Millions of dollars issued without question and to many contractors paying 3rd country nationals.
(3) Guess who was a key player pushing the LOGCAP program? Dick Cheney our old VP was CEO of KBR which was one of the biggest recipients of tax payer funded service contracts. Of those contracts there were numerous lawsuits as a result of unsafe conditions for our troops.
(4) Considering how poorly managed these contractors were and the high number of lawsuits, injuries, and sometimes death were drawing a lot of attention. US Gov said we need more oversight and demanded the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) manage the service contracts.
(5) While it took DCMA a few years to become proficient in managing the contractors, there was still fraud happening. Too many contracts and not enough oversight. DCMA made thing better but it wasn’t enough.
(6) Because there were so many issues, the LOGCAP IV contract has been extended at a high cost each year while LOGCAP V is being negotiated. Not sure it will be better or save tax payers money, but the bottom line is that we need to get out of using the contractors.

(9) next real war. For example, if we go to war with China it’s a faster pace and won’t be like the war on terror. We need to rest our troops, train differently, and rebuild our force. The LOGCAP services do not need to be involved. Let’s get back to how we operated decades ago.
(10) Well that was a rabbit hole. The original point being how taxpayers are paying overpriced contractors to do what the military is supposedly responsible for. Contractors make money giving out immunizations that made money for other contractors. It’s all about the money.
