#seattleprotestcomms #ProtestCommsSeattle Quick recap & thoughts on Cal Anderson: Judge Jones will issue a ruling tomorrow. That may or may not grant relief through a temporary restraining order. Be prepared for either outcome, and try to temper your expectations.
But beyond that, how would I act if I were the city? I think the most dangerous moments are tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday mornings from 4am to 7am. If I were the mayor, I'd be asking my legal team how confident they are that their argument will win tomorrow morning.
If their legal team's confidence is low, they may sweep tomorrow morning. Shift change is ~sometime around 3-4, and the judge certainly won't be awake to rule by that point, so a sweep after that shift gears up and stages seems much more likely than a sweep tonight.
However, this probably burns bridges - it'll very clearly be an act to subvert a ruling by a sitting federal judge who has already found the City in contempt twice. That may be a bridge too far, but I don't really have context on what doors that may or may not close for the city.
The second most likely time seems like Monday of next week. The (illegal; not enough warning) notice they posted is legal Monday to Monday. SPD may be waiting for protest crowds to diminish in size, especially given that it'll be a workday morning on Christmas week.
All of this to say, stay vigilant. Tomorrow early morning and Monday early morning are times to watch. If you can be in or near Cal, do. If you can't, wake up early and check the scanner over coffee. Organize with friends so you know how to get word out if things seem off.
