THREAD: I’ve been getting very heartening feedback from small businesses who’ve seen a surge in business in the last month. Many attribute it to consumers thinking differently about how they spend their dollars.
They are seeing increased customer feedback to the effect: I’m thinking differently about how I spend my $ this year. I want you to be around in March, and I’m doing what I can now to make that possible.
They’re also hearing from corporates - BIG companies - who want to shop SMALL for client and employee gifts.
Small businesses that were apprehensive about e-comm previously who’ve leaned into it because of pandemic have really helped themselves. Those who already had an online presence before March were way ahead.
They’ve also come up with very clever strategies. Like @poppyandstella - which participated along with 10 small retailers last night in this zoom event. Each retailer got a breakout room, invited customers (~200 came), went live and took time to Q&A, show product, show items IRL
If you’re a small business embracing new strategies, leaning into old ones, witnessing interesting consumer trends, or looking for a lifeline, I’d love to hear more about how it’s going. Please DM me. Thank you. And best wishes.
