I love me some battle shounen but sports manga and dramas have the best characterization because it's grounded in reality and the characters feel that much more genuine for some reason. this is Me Personally Speaking

part of the reason why I like jjk so much is cause being a sorcerer is a job and that's it. it's not like bnha where To Be A Hero is an ideology, a sorcerer is a means to a paycheque and everyone does it so it feels much more realistic to me??? in a way????

It's like the equivalent of a high risk job. everyone's motivations come down to "what do I do with the life I have bc I dont know if i'll have it much longer" and on an individual level it's much easier to digest than "become the #1 hero" or "find the secret treasure"

once again, me personally. I like battle shounen but the best character writing comes from realistic dramas and jujutsu kaisen managed to borrow the best elements from those dramas by presenting the world in the way that it is
