There’s been a lot of hate towards women in sports recently and I’m writing this thread hoping that men will see it and speak up publicly.

They have been the target of an insane amount of hate by men. They’ve been sexually harassed, they’ve been attacked verbally by other fans, they have been stalked, men have called their employers, and there have been attempts to hack their twitters. Cont
Since these women started sharing their views and using their voices, there ha e been significantly more and more burner accounts created and targeting them. These accounts seem to be ran by men.
It’s our job as men to eradicate misogyny and make sport and fandom a safe space for ALL to enjoy, engage, share opinions and be part of sport culture.

They have been failed by hockey culture for not stepping up as a collective. Each and every one of us with influence needs to continuously loudly let the world know that women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ etc are welcome and valued in sport culture.
We need to stand up to those who are harassing minority people. We need to show men that it isn’t acceptable and won’t be tolerated within sports culture. We need to celebrate the accomplishments of women in sport & also demand that cont
Minority ppl are celebrated for their accomplishments. They haven’t been on a number of fronts including the players from the WNBA and so many men mocking Sarah Fuller.
It’s got to end and we have to end it. But so do leagues and teams. @Canucks @fr_aquilini , it would be great to see these women publicly supported for the greatness they are contributing and denouncing the men who are attacking them.
