I get why Jose said the better team lost. In his mind, Tottenham were the better team. For him, there's no negative to that approach, the saves Lloris made were just part of the plan. Some of the chances they missed. The Harry Kane header alone. I disagree with him, but I get it.
I suppose it depends on whether you see the deserving team as the one that controlled the game for 85% of its length, struggled in front of goal and won it in the last minute, or the one that defended for their lives and used their 15% to create good chances but fail to take them
Spurs take one of those chances, they likely win and the story would be 'another Mourinho masterclass'. We shouldn't ignore how close they were to a second goal, and Liverpool didn't look like breaking them down. But the approach, that's hard to accept as more deserving of a win.
