Woah, woah, woah. Hang on a sec.

At some point, the Monstars from Space Jam changed their individual names. 1/
You may find this trivial, but I've based my life decisions on the lessons taught to me by Space Jam. To have a rug pulled under me like this doesn't thrill me.

I know the Monstars/Nerdlucks as Pound, Nawt, Bupkus, Blanko and Bang. Always have. Most of the Internet agrees. 2/
But I was taking my hourly stroll on the still-surviving Space Jam website and found some concerning evidence that, at some point, these names were changed.

I present to you Nada, Void, Zilch and Null. 3/
(Bupkus still remained)

Those names seem to make a little more sense.

All mean "nothing" or "zero," which explains their numbers and lack of self-confidence. 4/
Here's a breakdown of where we are:

Orange ➡️ Zilch ➡️ Pound ➡️ Charles Barkley

Blue ➡️ Void ➡️ Blanko ➡️ Shawn Bradley

Magenta ➡️ Nada ➡️ Nawt ➡️ Muggsy Bogues

Green ➡️ Null ➡️ Bang ➡️ Patrick Ewing

Purple ➡️ Bupkus ➡️ Larry Johnson

5/
These names are never mentioned in the film (neither is their species of Nerdluck), so a name change at anytime seems unnecessary and bizarre.

Nevertheless, I have some theories. 6/
Perhaps, because the names didn't have a mention in the film, they were given various names for "zero" because they truly didn't matter. Then, at some point, a director or Wayne Knight decided that they ought to have some way of differentiating them beyond color/size/talent. 7/
The part that is giving me the most difficulty is why the purple Monstar's name never changes. Why would they be given fake names, only to have those be changed ... except one? 8/
My next theory is that the names listed on the website are those given to them by Mr. Swackhammer, the leader of the Nerdlucks, who clearly didn't value them. The new names are those given to them by the Looney Tunes.

That's a little heartwarming. 9/
I feel like I probably need a third theory to conclude this thread, but I honestly don't have it. If anyone has an explanation, whether obvious or absurd, I am here for it.

I have built a close association with Space Jam, so I can't leave this unanswered. I need closure.
