Ok pals: accessible fashion. What makes clothes, shoes, or accessories work for you? What items/features do you look for? What items/features do you avoid? Are there any "fashion statements" that aren't just compatible with your needs but actually facilitate them ?
For me: like blazers/jackets but avoid because they never look as nice seated (hence the sweaters). Love sleeves that I can roll up or have a close-fitting cuff and won't slip down over my palms when I push. Usually go with boots (a size up) and knee-high (WARM) socks for AFOs.
Following up: lots of anti-button and anti-laces folks! Are there fasteners that do work for you or is elastic/stretch the preference?
So I totally didn't post this in order to brag about this pair of jeans I have, but everyone talking about giving up on jeans makes me want to just say: I got an amazing pair of black jeans from Peau de Loup that are my favourite wheelchair pants yet. Most comfortable ones I own.
(I tried them on when modeling and I was like, "k these need to come home with me.")
