This year the Recording Academy ( @RecordingAcad) hired its first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer - Valeisha Butterfield-Jones.
This year Creative Artists Agency added it’s first African-American board member - Lisa Joseph Metelus.
This year Rashida Jones became the first Black executive to run a major news network (MSNBC).
This year Sundance Institute ( @sundanceorg) named Tabitha Jackson as the Director of the Sundance Film Festival, the first Black executive to hold this position.
This year Warner Bros. added it’s first Black chairman and CEO - Channing Dungey.
This year United Talent Agency added it’s first first Black board member - Rich Paul.
This year producer/director Reginald Hudlin became the first-ever Black executive producer of the Primetime Emmy Awards.
This year Amanda Jones became the first Black woman to earn an Emmy nomination for original television score.
This year Dana Canedy became the first Black publisher of Simon & Shuster.
