Our District is diverse. In the 4 zip-codes we polled, out of 4,025 respondents, 53% took our survey in English while 48% took our survey in Spanish.
The bulk of our respondents live in zip-codes 10460 & 10462, which tend to be the more resource-rich communities. (2/6)

Both English & Spanish speakers are not informed about Ranked Choice Voting. A majority of those surveyed did not know about RCV & had never heard about it.

Voters overwhelmingly prefer voting early & Spanish voters lean towards voting on Election Day or by mail.
In order to deliver RCV results quickly, without burdening BOE, we’ll need to encourage Spanish speaking voters to early vote & have the investment to do that. (4/6)

In order to truly empower marginalized voices & reinfranchise voters who have been excluded, we must commit to properly educating our electorate.
That means offering multi-lingual resources and committing budget dollars towards an aggressive information campaign.

• to prioritize dollars that will make this successful
• BOE & NYCCFB need to show us they are prepared to voters
• Advocacy orgs that pushed this thru in Nov ‘19, must double-down on their rollout efforts
