**SPOILERS**
During my break I decided to Reread KnY and see if my opinions on it would change. Before I review the series I wanted to take a minute to appreciate and analyze my 2nd favorite arc: the Red Light District.

Red Light District is known as a pretty damn good arc but a lot of praise misses the themes of it. The arc really does an amazing job staying consistent with the idea of humanizing demons and adds examples to the incredible kindness Tanjiro shows demons. This arc really had me-
-relate tanjiro to Luffy in the sense that while staying consistent and simple, they’re both incredible and likable characters that stick to their morals no matter what. Tanjiro is one of the kindest mcs I’ve seen in manga and it’s honestly a beautiful thing in a world of -
-Constant death. But the real stars of this arc were Gyuutaro and Daki. The backstory given displays an amazing contrast of personalities and actions and leads to a bittersweet resolution. Gyuutaro was born ugly and had a mother who hated him and despised the world because of -
-such and become a “debt collector” until Daki is born and gives him a more meaningful reason to truly live. He lives in promise of protecting her and loving her similarly to Tanjiro and Nezuko until Daki is burnt to death. With this out of rage he murders the man responsible-
From the fight he meets Douma and both become demons. As a demon Gyu murders people in an envious way often complimenting them on things he never had and believes himself to be completing himself by carrying out these actions. Tanjiro when cutting their heads off makes him -
-Realize that what had been completing him in life was his sister and their closeness and bond which in turn allows him to forgive himself and complete him in death. No longer envious but instead appreciative, something Tanjiro gave him indirectly due to his actions.
Their final panels show their heads on the ground, in a symbolic Yin and Yang shot showing two opposites in life and in death, ugly and beautiful, envious and content, complete each other. Under appreciated moments that come back over and over such as these are why KnY is so
Great to me and doesn’t get enough credit. And the fights were absolutely hype. Certain things were influenced by my friend @Shika2828 as they helped me see things and symbolisms i never noticed. Overall, 10/10 arc and a beautiful story. Thank you if you read this far
