Looking at the #MindsMatter #Concussion Registry we found that at their first visit to clinic, about half of the adolescents had already returned to driving--with many not making any changes to their driving behavior.
But...few had returned to exercise and sports and 9 out of 10 were advised to return to school with accommodations to begin gradual increase in cognitive activity.
In supporting healthy & safe "return to" activities in adolescents after concussion--driving needs to be another "return to" that has evidence based guidelines. Our paper helps provide next steps in this important area of adolescent health. Can't wait for those next studies!
