Tipu was neither a secularist nor a freedom fighter but was made a hero out of no where by the Marxist historians to gaslight the atrocities he did on the Hindus .

Melukotte massacre

This was the place of Madayam Iyengars who migrated from Tamil Nadu. On naraka Chaturdashi in 1790 Tipu sultan butchered 800 Brahmins as they gathered at the banks of Kaveri River to celebrate Diwali at narasimha swamy temple. Till date it isn’t celebrated

The sringeri massacre and maratha involvement in 1971

Tipu Sultan had challenged to convert 50,000 Hindus to Islam including women to establish islamic supremacy. He attacked and looted the sringeri Shankaracharya matha.

This area was protected by the Marathas under Parashuram Bhau Patwardhan’s family and was directly funded by Peshwas.This attack left a stigma on the Peshwas and brought in Raghunath Rao ‘Raghoba dada’ Nana Phadnis Mahadji Shinde in the picture.

Since 1774 the Marathas lost territory to Tipu and were waiting to take revenge and reclaim their lost glory. Tipu purposefully captured Dharwad fort and converted Hindus to Islam inducted fair maiden into his personal harem.

Anguished at the death of commander Pethe and imprisonment of commander Bhave Nana Phadnis wrote a letter to Tukoji Holkar to join Parshuram Bhau to attack Tipu and make him surrender.They made him pay 48 lakhs tribute in exchanged two commanders.

In 1790 unable to bear more intolerance and atrocities on Hindus the Marathas sent an army under Phadkein support with the British encamped at chennai. Patwardhan bhau promised to be the main transgressor in the siege of sriramgapattanam.

1791 Parashuram Bhau ran over Dharwad swiftly crossed Tughabhardra river and met Raghunath Rao dada at Harihar and they further captured mayakonda and chenagiri.

Tipu was pushed to his limits to accept defeat and plead to Marathas via Apaji Rao to save his life and asked Marathas to sue for peace and not transgress further.

He wrote letters to the Zaman shah and ottoman emperors pleading and begging them to invade India and make this another islamic state with him as the regional attorney and also boasted about his forced conversions and killings of the infidels.

Battle of Srirangapattanam was never fought for Independence of India but for defending his own kingdom as he did the same once by allowing Lord Corniwallis to keep his sons as hostages to escape the heavy fine and save the dismantling of his fortification.

In the afternoon of that battle he was betrayed by Mir Sadiq his east wing commander and allowing the British to come in. He didn’t decide to give a forward thrust but ran inside.

Inorder to kill the members of his harem and wives so that they aren’t captured by there British atthe entrance of the fort he was shot dead by a bullet fired by a British soldier.
