. @JesseBrown has recently published an article with three fundamental lies.
WE Believe in Saint John is not a WE Charity event. Like many school and community groups they are running their own youth empowerment event. To say we are running WE Day events is false #fakenews.
The fundraising campaign @JesseBrown references is an old campaign launched in 2019 and was removed in a website clean up last month.
At no point did WE say it was stopping donations during this transition which is stated here https://bit.ly/3p0MvAe . This link has been active since our announcement in September. We have the receipts – again. This was not researched correctly and is #fakenews.
We stated in September that we were working out the details of the endowment fund, which remains the case. We apologize for not adhering to @JesseBrown's schedule.
We are certainly not planning any ME to WE trips or New Year’s parties. The local team is offering lodging for people in Ecuador. This is #fakenews.
The WE GLC was listed for sale a few months ago. All proceeds from the sale of WE Charity real estate will be placed in to the endowment fund as previously stated.
In the future, we ask that @JesseBrown and @CANADALAND reach out to us prior to publishing his allegations. Similar to so many of his articles about WE, this is simply irresponsible journalism filled with false information.
And @JesseBrown , we’re not secretly running WE Charity from Brooklyn in cahoots with @PresidentCBCRC.
