this is so real and exactly where i am. my own feelings re: guns are so hard to pin down.

i mentioned this in the ep, but after our apt got broken into a few years ago, i wanted one — bc the other option for protection is the police.

even in our scenario, it was hard to see how a gun would have helped. my lady woke up and it took her a second for her eyes to adjust and realize the dude standing in the dark at the foot of the bed wasn't *me*

how, realistically, was she going to pull a gun from the nightstand, take the safety off in the 1/2 second it would taken dude to lunge at her

i heard her yell and ran into the room and the dude ran out onto the balcony and climbed away

imagine we had a gun and i'd run into the room and he'd wrestled it away from her

thing is, in our actual scenario, nobody got hurt. the dude got shook and ran. if a gun was involved, somebody certainly would have.

(and mind you, we lived on the top floor of a 14-floor building, so he climbed off our balcony and back up ONTO the roof)

we let the building staff know, and they of course, called the cops

the cops were useless, which y'all already knew. and now after some dickhead broke into our crib we got eight fucking cops poking around in our apartment? tf?

again: nobody got hurt.

but you can see all the scenarios in which that shit coulda went sideways. imagine we had a gun and the cops show up and see ME with my gun in my own crib?

ugh.
