. @SenatorTester (a personal hero of mine) was quoted in the @nytimes saying
"There’s no doubt about it, he [Trump] has an appeal in rural America. I can’t figure it out, but there’s no denying it."
@RuralOrganizing spent a year researching this. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/16/us/politics/jon-tester-democrats.html

This matrix pretty much sums it up for me. Notice the support for Trump's anti-corruption and anti-corporate rhetoric. Rural voters really connected with draining the swamp.
Rural voters have been left behind by powerful people and they think Donald Trump is a powerful person who is fighting for them because he truly cares about them.
. @SenatorTester is 100% correct in saying:
"You cannot have Chuck Schumer talking rural issues to rural people; it ain’t gonna sell."
But outsourcing rural engagement to lobbyist aint gonna sell either. The worst thing Democrats can do is bring a lobbyist to populist fight.

It's not just about showing up. It's about showing up with a plan.
That's why we at @RuralOrganizing are calling for a National Office of Rural Prosperity. We need to show rural voters we are fighting for them. https://www.stormlake.com/articles/joe-biden-should-pledge-to-create-a-national-office-of-rural-prosperity/
