These are actually based on data, though there is some way to go to get their shapes matched to species.

Then I'm going to render ~40,000 of them into an image!
Next step is to map them to the actual size of the birds. Then to adjust shape (going to do gulls, ducks/geese, raptors, others).

Then map the counts the Brooklyn Christmas Bird Count numbers from 1981-2019.
Ok, taking a break. Scales are real, but realizing I need more bird types.
Getting flocky.
Going to spend the night thinking about wings. I love the simple look of the triangle ones from the beginning, but it just doesn't work for some birds.

I'll let my brain work on it in the background for a while.
Some birds are better than others.

I was pretty lazy in the first round of color picking, and it shows.
