Instead of posting an end-of-year roundup, I'll post my 2020 pitching stats instead:

Pitches sent: 286
Accepted: 30
Rejected: 111
Assignments: 21

I have a 10.49% acceptance rate. Still, I only started this March, so all the publications on my bio is from the last 10 months.
I went into freelancing without prior knowledge about it. I didn't know what pitching meant, how to find editors' emails, how to develop story ideas, and more.

I used to send >400 word pitches, call editors Ms./Mr., and send a pitch for every open call I could find.
I definitely learned a lot along the way! I send more concise pitches now, I figured out the beats I want to really pursue, and I only send pitches for the stories that I actually do want to write. I'm no expert and I still have a lot to learn, but I came a long way.
You can look at the works I've produced this year by visiting my portfolio, which is linked in my bio. (Still waiting for one more article to go live though!) For 2021, I'm looking forward to more growth! I aim to improve my writing and produce more pieces that I'm proud of. đź’–đź’–
