Evangelical elite rhetoric is ultimately an ad hoc series of minor premises (usually reflecting popular sentiment) with little to no critical thought on the required major premises and certainly no consideration on how absurd the major premises would be when applied universally.
For example, heaven is multicultural (minor premise), so Christians should support multiculturalism. Major premise: Christians should support on earth what is true in heaven....

But there is no marriage in heaven. Ergo: Christian should not support marriage on earth.
In other words, they assert what is uncontroversial as the minor premise & give a conclusion, but they leave absent the controversial major premise. Most don't know what they're doing, because they do not use critical thought -- they have a kitbag of lines, nothing more.
The key thing here is that evangelical elite rhetoric is designed not to convince by reason but to socialize people into rhetorical devices that can cue positive or negative responses depending on the circumstance and intent.
