It's also important for traders to understand what margin is and what actual risk is. I have carried spreads that the margin is ridiculous but is that my real money risk? No not close. This is easily defined for futures traders, it's a dicier game for option traders

Best advice @ag_trader gave was sticking to 1 or 2 set ups. Especially when you first start. Plus you need to decide what type of trader that suits you.
