Let's talk Kaminski. I've been impressed with the goalkeeper this season.
The way the players talk about their confidence in his ability relaxes so many of our fears from previous seasons.
Just how much better have things gotten in the Goalkeeping department? #BRFC

First off, what is xCG and aCG? xCG refers to how many goals a goalkeeper is expected to concede, using xG models, over a period of games or a season.
ACG is actual goals conceded over this period. We can see that TK concedes less goals than most metrics suggest he should be!

Let's head back to 2019/20. We can see here that whilst our goals conceded was still nice and low, goalkeeper Walton was actually conceding more than data metrics suggested he should've done.

Now David Raya, using data from the 2018/19 season alone. A much higher xCG and aCG here, but unlike Walton, Raya wasn't conceding particularly more goals across a season than the data suggested he should've done.
Even heat maps can show us just how much Rovers play has changed tactically over three seasons. Not only does Kaminski have a more important role in build up, but his starting position is significantly higher than DR's in 18/19.

So let's compare. There's a write up here which goes over what this graph is really showing us. Again, this data is Kaminski 20/21, Walton 19/20 and Raya 18/19 only.
