Watching what’s happening in Armenia and seeing the utter incompetence of the MOD and Pashinyan one thing is clear, the longer he clings to power the longer this farce will continue. Hate to be quoting Lenin, but we are close to getting to the point when
“the bottoms don't want and the tops cannot live in the old way.” Lest people accuse me of sympathizing with the “old regime” it must be said that I dont. I don’t know who should take over and so on. As it stands there’s no one person that I could point out and say Ecce Homo
follow him, he is guileless. But if Pashinyan truly cares about the fate of the country he should walk away (not with tail between his legs, but certainly head lowered in humility). He was a breath of fresh air when he was able to galvanize the Armenian society
2.5 years ago, and many people felt empowered for the first time in a long time. But his missteps, his hubris, and his incompetence have been fatal. He is a trash talking pugilist at a weigh-in that gets knocked out in the ring. He has been weighed and has been found wanting.
He is a tragic character that has swam upstream probably all his life, never bothering to swim with the current. At the end if the day his political instincts that had helped him come to power betrayed him in foreign affairs. Can he redeem himself?
God only knows! But his resignation would be a first step, should redemption be ever in the cards
