Personally, I’ve found it very impressive that footballers have felt empowered enough to send such strong messages. I’m all for anti-discrimination work of all kinds.

Just because someone doesn’t take the knee, it doesn’t mean they don’t agree with it. We all support good causes and the majority of people are kind natured, we don’t go around sporting badges of our beliefs all the time.

Anyway, interesting to see what happens. Clearly anti-racism work must continue throughout football and wider society but collective taking of the knee can’t continue forever.

Just to make 100pc clear: if you boo the taking of the knee then I think you’re an idiot who needs to educate themselves. It’s a peaceful act calling for equality.
