We found that over half 59% of carers are too worried about COVID-19 to risk seeing their family and friends this year, meaning many will go without the helping hand they might usually have at Christmas to take the pressure off. 2/4
44% of carers are very worried about the fact that they will have no support, and 49% said Christmas makes them feel more lonely than normal. 3/4
Government must urgently review breaks services and invest in them, so carers can take a break over winter.
