Morning, and welcome to reality :)

1. The Canary is independently regulated by the Leveson Inquiry approved IMPRESS. This is a higher standard than the MSM.

2. Our staff are paid an hourly rate at least equivalent to the living wage, plus NI, annual/sick leave & pensions.
3. 90% of our income comes from subscribers. We don’t have an ad-based/click-based business model and haven’t since we could afford not to.

4. We have a strict 20% maximum pay gap between the highest & lowest earners in our company. We believe egalitarianism starts at home.
5. I’m one of the 3 co-founding Directors, all of whom have daily jobs working at The Canary.
Drew Rose - Editor-in-chief
Nancy Mendoza - COO
Me - Editor-at-large
6. We run a very tight ship. Our editors (Emily Apple and Afroze Zaidi) and copy editors are incredibly dedicated and diligent.
Every story goes through a stringent editorial process.
None of this is a secret. It’s published right there on our website for all to see.
