In 1861, the north and the south rose into a war level. There was a General named Winfield Scott who was also advisor to President Lincoln. Lincoln had almost no military experience and listened to Gen Scott.

Scott was an American military commander and political candidate. He served as a general in the United States Army from 1814 to 1861, taking part in the War of 1812, the Mexican–American War, the early stages of the American Civil War, and various conflicts with Native Americans.

In 1861, he was an old man but, sharp in his mind like in the old days. So, he developed a strategy called the Anaconda Plan. This plan takes time and the critics of the plan were unwilling to concede that time.
