Another 62 cases reported in schools from 6th-12th December [51 children, 11 adults]. Testing in schools decreased by 25%. Notwithstanding this, a total of 1,774 children/adults were tested in schools; worryingly this brings positivity rates up to 3.5% from 2.5% last week.

There were 11 more cases in childcare facilities [6 children, 5 adults] bringing the total to 73 cases in all child educational facilities. Of 137 schools/childcare facilities tested, 24 had positive cases [PR= 17.5%]. Clusters/outbreaks have not been reported as of yet.

Last week there were 436 cases in children (est. 22% of all cases).
This year so far in Ireland 10,607 children have contracted #Covid19 of which 9,431 [89%] cases occurred since schools reopened.
Approx. 111 children under age 14 have been hospitalised to date.

There appears to be still some issues with cumulative data calculations. Ordinarily, new weekly data should be added to the previous YTD data to give the new total, but in some instances this is not adding up. Even with the disclaimers, it doesn't make sense. Not sure why?

My own reports of HPSC data are below.
(Note: HPSC Weekly Incidence Rates numbers do not always match to HPSC/CovidHub Reports - I believe this is due to report timing, de-notifications/re-classifications etc.)
