It's disingenuous for @chicagosmayor & @janicejackson to accuse @CTULocal1 for wanting to deny parents a choice in education.

I listened to another Principal say she met with Principals in Atlanta, New York and other cities - they were all struggling with issues of re-opening.
In Chicago, we still have political corruption built into CPS and the City, cronyism, unclean government. The Chicago Way.

It doesn't seem like it factors into school decisions - but then we see reporting from @BetterGov and @MilaKoumpilova about $1.6m contracts being given to campaign donors.

We see things like @ChiPubSchools try to union-bust by posting new jobs for folks with no benefits and minimum wage to go work in a ~*pandemic*~. Yep, we're still in one.
Meanwhile, all the mid-upper level staffers who make $$$ aren't called into schools....

And then we get to the safety issues! As @markPsupanich prepares his remarks for tomorrow's Board of Education meeting, I hope @ChiPubSchools answers the questions on MERV-13 filters, CDC guidelines, EPA guidelines and for the love of anything...

So many communities are rejecting re-opening plans. They do it through their in-person surveys.

And more! One school's LSC tonight passed a resolution to halt the reopening plan in full!

I don't always know what it takes to get @ChiPubSchools to listen. Another parent asked today how we get disaggregated re-opening statistics transparently.
I suggested emailing Adrian Segura - the Deputy Chief of Family and Community Engagement. His email is [email protected].

Adrian was telling parents on parent meetings to choose in-person, thereby inflating those statistics allowing CPS to spin the data in their communications shop, so they have the option.
That's not engagement!

Principals were telling parents to do this too - I can only assume this was a directive from CPS Leadership.

Or the Mayor, even though she didn't like press treatment, she clearly doesn't understand the power her position holds for good or for worse, over our lives.
