In 2020 we are reminded of the vital necessity of public health, public information, public education, mass transit... and the gross inequity in our state.
Giving away $ to profitable, politically connected corporations is against everything we stood for all year.

And don’t tell me “oh but the economy!” Nonsense!! There is NO EVIDENCE tax incentives magically help the economy writ large. What we DO know is they award rich CEOs and that cottage industry of tax credit sales and attorneys.

Not that long ago advocates in Jersey were talking w advocates in neighboring states about regional legislation that would prohibit the “us vs you” race to the bottom mentality that tax credits set up.
Alas.

And to be turned around in a matter of days? A massive bill of this magnitude?
My goodness this state needs structural reform. We aren’t even doing the basics.
