Please don’t believe you have to own expensive tech, tools and set up to gain content deals and partnerships, a great following or exposure.

Wanna thread? Here we go:
Cameras I use for content:

Most of my photos are taken on an iPhone X portrait mode / contour setting OR iPhone 11 portrait mode (used more often for videos)

Recently I got a digital camera, Canon. EOS rebel t6. I play with it more often now but I need to invest in other lens.
Apps to use for editing photos:

1. Instagram editing is what I use for 90% of my posts.

2. For videos, I use Splice. It’s free, offers some free music or you can add purchased songs from iTunes.

3. iPhone’s editing feature has def gotten better over the years. Play with it!
Back drops and lighting:

I will say, now that it gets darker sooner, those of us who enjoy the natural lighting are not that happy at the moment. BUT. Lighting rings/ selfie rings come in handy!

There’s always one on Amazon for sale, make sure it has multiple lighting options
As for backdrops, you do not HAVE to purchase those photo boxes, or buy expensive drops if that’s not in your budget or a set priority. I’ll add in a thread I did awhile back about using household items, clothing, chairs and things to “build” your own set.
Here’s the thread showing some homemade thrown together backgrounds I’ve used. One of which was recently used for a partnership. I’ll add a few more to this at some point. https://twitter.com/jayacancook/status/1157364698280599552
Next. Promote yourself on all your social media platforms. Share work frequently. If you don’t have new content for daily/weekly posts, share bits and pieces. Or just repost/retweet a different shot with another caption, maybe explaining the how to or what inspired the work, etc.
Trust your own work. You can take inspiration from another creature, absolutely. But, don’t lose yourself copying their work. If the company wanted their work, they’d choose them. Focus on making what you bring to the table, accessible.
