What’s the mutual benefit of youth and elders?

Elders teach wisdom. Lessons. Personal stories with personal endings.

But what does youth give elder?
Fresh lens? Perspective?

Certain distain about youth may come from elders KNOWING they can’t learn from youth...
They can see youthful energy, childlike enthusiasm, and sure,

maybe attempt to adopt or act in this ‘happy by all, life is exciting’ attitude.

But that’s an entire mental wiring.

Nearly impossible EXCEPT for the most open minded adults (a generational minority)
I believe what youth brings to the table is hard to judge (especially in terms of ‘practical’ & that’s a large priority in adult life)

This explains why conversations with economics/mgmt professors was always shallow. Factual. Matter of fact.

But conversations with philosophy..
Philosophy, art, languages professors was filled with life, laughs, eyes full of wonder.

Youth brings something hard to put in numbers or words.

What do you think the mutual relationship is??
