Wait. How is it like Scooby Doo here. Of course CDPR execs would have known what state the game was in and pushed it out anyway?! What else would have happened? Someone punted it out in secret?
Honestly, there's not much else to this right now. Management are concerned with their investors and will say any old shit, devs are overworked and that's no environment to release a working complex game in, games come out for Xmas or else. Ta da! That's it.
Of course management knew. They're management. How the fuck wouldn't they?
I know everyone's picking over the bones of it and management seem to be going out of their way to not even keep a story straight for one whole hour and as is the cdpr ways to drag everyone else into the net, but really, come on.
I hate feeding frenzies, even when comeuppance is richly deserved by money grubbing clowns. Such a mess.
Anyway. I'm not sure why it took Cyberpunk, and not the myriad of other titles, for people to notice tentpole releases getting an easier ride from platform holders but at least that's something. Every cloud.
I also got to read one (1) "as a boss, I think you're being too hard on bosses, devs can be shit too" comment so I got my laughs. Almost as good as the 1 star review on Amazon for Bullshit Jobs which is essentially "my job isn't bullshit, signed someone with a bullshit job". Fab!
I guess it's just people nudging towards "what went wrong in this system? gosh" rather than contemplating whether that maybe, just maybe, that's the system working as designed and as it usually works.
But constantly doodling in the margins rather than making that last step.

How could this happen? Well, sit down. There's something you should know.
