Nevada is in a better place today because of @GovSisolak's new eviction protections. Let's break down what it does: Similarly to CDC protections, Nevadans who are behind in rent because of Covid w/nowhere to go can take action to prevent eviction through March 31st. (1/4)
RIGHT NOW: If you haven't already, provide the CDC declaration to your landlord. https://www.lacsn.org/images/Flyers/CDCDeclarationPacket.pdf Proof of service advised. If you already have, you do not have to give them a new one. If you haven't already applied for rental assistance: https://housing.nv.gov/Resources/COVID-19/Renter_Assistance/ (2/4)
These protections are much stronger than the CDC order. Landlords should stop evicting those who qualify for protection through any route, no cause evictions included. This also protects people who's leases have expired and tenants who pay rent weekly. (3/4)
Lastly, help is available. If your landlord attempts to evict you despite the protections, please reach out to your legal aid provider:

*and if you are served with any court documents, always always always respond. We can you help you respond, but if you don’t respond the eviction can be summarily granted and a lockout ordered. Giving your landlord the declaration does not change this - always respond!
