A couple thoughts on the @TwinCitiesDSA Member At-Large Election:
There are 9 candidates that I would be very pleased to see on SC. (Roslyn withdrew their application) I would like to call out @profit_is_theft who is a newer member of our chapter, but has been organizing with Heart of Iowa DSA for several years. Follow him if you don't.
It's also been cool to see people running for SC be explicit about their priorities and direction for DSA, and having a "top 3" system has allowed us to do that without it feeling adversarial, or chasing candidates off from running. More of this plz.
I hope the folks who are not selected will keep organizing with an eye toward the next chapter convention next fall, and we can have more competition and discussion around those positions than we have in the past.
I was very skeptical of adding seats to SC and some of you heard that skepticism at past meetings, but I'm very excited by the energy and vision of the folks stepping up and thank you to @deborama52 for patiently pushing this within the chapter.
