On December 15, 2013 the government of South Sudan carried out a genocide on members of the Nuer tribe killing hundreds of innocent men, women, children, & elders.

I will never forget this day. I was 12 rocking my hysterical mother in my arms for a week straight cause we lost +
family members, literally, every single day.

I will never forget those in the diaspora who tried to cover up the matter as if the government back home wasn’t deliberately trying to wipe out a WHOLE TRIBE!

I will never forget The war criminal himself, Obama, inviting +
Salva Kirr to the White House a few weeks later to commend him and other African leaders on their efforts to maintain peace within their nations when there was SoSu protesters outside the White House grounds letting him know that Salva Kirr didn’t belong there.

I simply will +
never forget that day. And many of you probably never knew this because South Sudan is constantly forgotten. Many of you probably didn’t know this because the western country you live in is extremely individualistic and we don’t find it necessary to educate ourselves on issues +
of foreign policy because we believe it doesn’t affect us when it absolutely does.
South Sudan is still an extremely fragile nation. Make du’a that one day South Sudan and its leaders will finally come to its senses so the people of South Sudan no longer have to suffer and watch their country fall right before their eyes.

#PrayForSouthSudan always 🇸🇸♥️
