I've heard from several attractive people with many followers that they want to use Twitter as their dating profile but it doesn't just work. Here's how I would suggest doing it:
1. Be your real self on Twitter, not your mean self
2. One good photo
3. Give potential dates a hook https://twitter.com/yashkaf/status/1313909592011743233
1. Projecting outrage and contempt are extremely unattractive for both men and women. Complaining about "all the women" and "men these days" isn't endearing either. Move your shadow to an alt (and then to drafts and then let it go and cleanse your soul).
2. Twitter ain't Instagram, but a few photos a year is not vanity, it's a way for people to connect with you. https://twitter.com/yashkaf/status/1291115633644642310
3. This is key. There's a stigma around sliding into people's DMs, especially if they haven't made it obvious they're looking for dates. Women almost never do it, and guys assume that women with 2k+ followers get several proposals a day (it's rarely true) and are intimidated.
You gotta give people who want to date you a clear action to take. For example, add to your bio a line like "Hi, I'm Jacob, I'm looking for polyamorous lovers in NYC. To ask me out, DM me something recently that made you fall in love with life and humanity."
The hook should create some barrier to entry, you want to filter out people too lazy to say more than "hi", but not too intimidating. Give people room to express themselves and potentially take charge of the flirting (especially if you're a woman and looking for assertive men).
To sum up: you don't have to make your entire Twitter about looking for dates, but if that's part of your life it should be visible and approachable on your Twitter.
