I've been seeing more “don’t California my Texas” sentiment lately and I have thoughts. as a born and raised Texan (houstonian!) who went to school in Austin (hook ‘em!), lived in Dallas for years (7!), and have spent the last 3 years in SF, I think I have perspective. (1/4)
Texas, Y’ALL, there is a lot we can learn from a Californian influence like...1) to give a shit about the environment 2) to accept and love ALL people 3) innovation (yes, it’s still more prevalent in CA even though i heart atx x 100) and finally (most importantly?) 4) wine! (2/4)
I considered posting data to back up why I believe this, but data can tell any story we want it to, so I won't. I wholeheartedly believe what I’m saying after witnessing TX and CA firsthand for years. living it > data. (3/4)
Lastly, even if you disagree, more people moving across state boundaries will hopefully help take us back to the melting pot we once were instead of the highly divided, homogenous states we’re turning into. also, and i can’t overstate this, wine! (/fin)
