MacKenzie Scott @mackenziescott leaving Jeff Bezos was probably the best thing she could've done for herself, and for the world.

Scott just gifted multiple multi-million dollar gifts to Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Morgan State, Prarire View, and Clark Atlanta.
In total, she has given over 4 BILLION dollars of her wealth, granted whether it makes a dent is debatable.

Her ex-husband is a centi-billionaire and I haven't heard him have the same energy, so to that I say: Carry on and considering gifting grass root orgs Ms. Scott!
Scott has gone so far to list the orgs she has supported to encourage others to support, and no that 4 BILLION dollar figure is not a mistake. She actually gave away literally 4 Billion dollars over 4 months on top of the money she's given away already.

Now my follow up question to this is how would she feel about paying taxes? Because alot of the orgs that are supported here exist because inequality is weaved into the fabric of America.... but alas, let me withhold my inner @AnandWrites and just say that gifts are nice.
The narrative around benevolent rich [white] people saving us isn't going to get us of this pandemic or any other crisis.

We need systemic change that allows for equity to prevail and that begins with addressing why really really rich people don't pay enough taxes.
Going back to the good news: It is absolutely important that MacKenzie Scott donated to Morgan State, Prairie View, and Clark Atlanta.

As much respect as I have for Spelman, Howard, and Morehouse, many other HBCUs are overlooked for gifts of this size, so I'm here for this.
My biggest concern about gifts of this size is do students ever see the money? Sometimes philanthropists will donating X million or Y billion and then you find out it goes towards upgrading campus facilities or something like that.

I want to see this money go to the STUDENTS.
Anyway so relying on benevolent rich (white) people is unsustainable. History shows us this time and time again.

Also someone pointed out that this might be a huge tax write off, which brings me back to this salient point courtesy of @Whalewatchmeplz @AsapSCIENCE:
