why sorn is NOT the awful villain stan twitter paints her out to be: an informative thread
first off i want to say to READ THIS WHOLE thread before making an opinion or saying anything. i am making this thread bc the hate that sorn gets from stan twitter on a daily basis is getting out of hand and i want to present you with the facts that are TRUE
i believe this issue needs to get cleared up once and for all. in 2019 around this time (dec), sorn posted this picture on twitter & instagram. in the pic, her friend in the back is wearing a mask. the mask is a costume mask of tiger woods and can be easily purchased by anyone
as stated above the mask isn’t a racist depiction of a black person like what many ppl believe. it’s a halloween costume mask of the golfer tiger woods who is cablinasian (caucasian, black, american indian & asian). the mask is not racist or offensive in any way (see differences)
tiger woods is also thai and he is a very famous figure in thailand and is loved greatly by thai people. including sorn herself (who is also thai)
despite this the image made waves and sorn was trending #1 on twitter. ppl got the wrong idea and believed that the mask was a racist depiction of a black person with over the top features. they were very angry at sorn for posting the pic
people were also angry at the fact that she told people to chill on her insta story. she clarified that this was not about the situation at hand but of another issue. it was noted that the instagram story was posted before the picture to begin with.
sorn posted on instagram and twitter making a clear apology to those who were hurt by the picture posted. the man wearing the mask posted his apology to his instagram apologizing for his actions
now at this point i thought we could all move on from this incident but it was only the beginning. everyday after what happened dec 2019 sorn has been the target of harassment. it’s so bad that sorn takes many breaks off of social media bc of the anxiety it gives her
what ppl love to make fun of the most is her appearance. they constantly make fun of her looks every chance they get. sorn has had antis making fun of her looks and weight ever since she was a teenager it’s something she has struggled with since she debuted
on top of that she is also constantly being called a racist and accused of doing blackface which is completely FALSE. i don’t know how her friend wearing a mask turned into her doing blackface or being racist but stan twitter has been running with it for a year and it’s NOT OKAY
the notion that sorn is a racist person who did blackface & doesn’t care about her fans etc needs to stop. accusations like this are serious & shouldn’t be tossed around. sorn apologized again & promised to learn & grow from her mistakes. she also made it clear she supports #BLM
i want to make it known for ppl who don’t know that sorn is the sweetest girl. she genuinely cares about our mental health and is constantly trying to engage with us and help cheshires during difficult times. it isn’t right that she gets a copious amount of hatred daily
if you read this thread and still feel the same way about sorn that’s okay. we as black people are allowed to feel offended/hurt. i did not make this thread to try to change your mind but to clarify the situation that happened last year so misinformation doesn’t keep spreading
you don’t have to stan or even like sorn/clc that’s not what this is about. i urge anyone who is reading this who has ever said something false about sorn/clc to absorb this thread, reflect, & stop with the hatred. chose to accept her apology or not but do not keep harassing sorn
humans make mistakes. i personally believe that people should be given the opportunity to truly grow from those mistakes and learn to ultimately become better people in the future
